Are you ready for some football?? Tis the season!  It seems that Green Bay has new life during early fall.  There is always speculation as to how far the Packers will go and fingers are crossed that they will stay strong.

It also seems to be the season kickoff for many different charities in our community.  You can walk for the Alzheimer’s Association, have lunch with the Women’s Fund Greater Green Bay‘s Power of the Purse, participate when Big Brothers Big Sisters has their Chef Showdown and Taste of the Town, attend the Freedom House 25-year celebration, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes for the Golden House…and the list goes on.

House of Hope features Show of StrengthAs you may or may not know, I am on the committee for The Golden House Show of Strength fundraiser.  This event is held in February and 2018 will be our 4th show.  The event raises awareness of the power of positive relationships.  Something that makes this event unique is that most of the items up for auction are created by local artists.  We ask area schools to participate, local businesses donate food and will have live demonstrations or mini classes that you can attend.  Last year we were blessed to have ArtBeat Live on site that painted pieces that were auctioned off.  Any type of art or homemade artistry is accepted.  These items are displayed and auctioned off, at the event.  Items that have been donated include signs, photographs, paintings, furniture, woodcrafts, scarves, jewelry and even molded cheese sculptures!

If you are an artist (or know an artist) I am asking you to please consider donating a piece for this cause.  Without local participation, this event would be a bust.  Maybe you know an entrepreneur that would like to get their name out in the community and they would be willing to sponsor us in some way.  We have had wine companies offer bottles of wine, local restaurants provide appetizers or desserts; there is no end to the creativity of our sponsors.  Maybe you are not an artist but have time and would consider helping to organize the event.  Please contact me, at the office, to let me know how you can help!
